Frequently Asked Questions

Tip

Before having acupuncture it is important you have a snack or something light to eat about an hour to half an hour before your treatment.

Why?

So you don't feel light headed after the treatment.

What do I wear?

Loose fitted clothing is ideal to wear as it'll be easier to access acupuncture points and you'll be most comfortable in this to relax.

Does it hurt?

I get asked this question a lot from people and the answer is no! Acupuncture needles are very fine they are smaller than a piece of human hair. You may feel a slight prick but because the needles are thin and the insertion is quick you tend not to feel them, sometimes you may feel a prick on more sensitive areas such as face, fingers and feet.

Depending on how sensitive you are you may feel a dull, achy feeling around the needles or from one location to the other, this is good so don't worry!

How many  treatments will I need?

It depends on many factors such as how long have you had the issue for, the severity, medical history, age, lifestyle etc. Some conditions may improve a little or significantly after one or two treatments, however some conditions depending on all the factors may take a few sessions to see some positive results.

Charlotte will discuss during the consultation a recommended amount of treatments for you.
